Influenced by Guy Ritchie's film, the role of the heroine, Irene Adler, was also expanded on during the show. Her love affair with Sherlock Holmes is one of the series' main storylines. She will be played by actress Lyanka Gryu. Kavun has also said he only plans to use the motives of the original stories, and will recreate the stories almost from scratch. Based on the characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle: Dr. John Watson returns from Afghanistan, and decides to share lodgings in Baker Street with Sherlock Holmes, an acquaintance of one of Watson's own friends. Not long afterward, Holmes brings Watson with him when he solves a murder case that has confused Inspector Lestrade. Watson soon becomes Holmes's friend, assistant, and chronicler, as the private detective takes on one baffling case after another.

Here are two Sherlock Holmes stories dramatized for Italian television audiences in the late 1960's: The Valley of Fear and The Hound of the Baskervilles. In the first the great detective is consulted on a brutal murder in a sumptuous country home; in the second he is asked to unravel the mystery of a scary legendary dog, also in an otherwise peaceful country setting.
